Member Spotlight: Auburn Recreation District
The Passport to Better Health (PBH) program began just a year ago. A lot has happened. A dedicated website (passportauburn.com) now features the events and promotions sponsored by ARD and other community organizations (including those of our partners). You will find a list of all sponsors and details of their special discount offers to passport holders as well as links to the Web sites of our seven partners and all sponsors. We are continuing to add new sponsors regularly.
We have initiated many new PBH classes and programs that have been featured in our last three activity guides and are working on developing more. The current Fall 2010 Activity Guide alone describes a dozen new classes that compliment one or more of the three PBH components (i.e. Heart Healthy Hiking, Diet and Nutrition for Optimal Health and Healthy Family Lifestyles).
We are now offering a special price on the passports to all members of our partner organizations and their friends. Instead of the original passport prices ( $25 family, $15 individual) you may now obtain a family passport with your donation to ARD of only $5.
You can purchase the Passport to Better Health & Savings booklet from the Auburn Recreation Park office, the Auburn Chamber of Commerce, the California Welcome Center (Placer County Visitors Bureau), the Daily Shake, and the Auburn Running Company Store, or at selected events put on by ARD or one of our partners. Just tell the seller the name of your organization and you will receive our lowest price of $5 for your lifetime passport (no renewal is necessary).
ARD is looking for additional passport sponsors who would support the statement, "your health is our business." We think that, consistent with the Think Auburn First campaign, our citizens should work on improving their health by supporting local providers of goods and services.
