Presented by Auburn Bike Works.  Race begins at 10:15am. The Olmstead Loop: located behind the Fire Station in Cool, CA. on Hwy 49, 6 miles south of course is approximately 10 miles long, consists of 85% fire roads,15% single track, with several grades and water crossings.  The course will be muddy on race day.  Approved helmets are required, protective eye-wear is recommended. Presented by Global Biorhythm Events.  The Coolest 24 Hour Race Against Cancer is held on the Olmstead Loop in Cool, CA. The race course will be marked on Friday morning and then re-checked for markings before the event again on Saturday morning. The course consists of single track and fire roads with challenging climbs and fun downhills. The loop is approx. 12.6 miles long, with 1700′ of climbing per lap. There will be an aid station half way out on the course and we have Hammer products, Coca-Cola products, and water. There will be a bike technician in the pit for you if you have any bike problems, but still bring tools, extra tubes and tires. There are 8 and 24 hour races. The dates are a week before our sister event, the Western States Endurance Run, and five weeks prior to the annual Tevis Cup 100 Mile ride. The final thirty-two miles of the trail will be covered in groups seeded for speed and led by experienced Tevis Cup Riders. The Friday night camp site for Saturday’s ride will be at the Foresthill Mill site. On Saturday, riders will leave Foresthill and ride the Western States Trail to Auburn. Mock vet checks will be held at Francisco’s (lunch), the Lower Quarry, and at Auburn at the finish. Course starts at Broad Street in downtown and continues counterclockwise to Union, Commercial, York, North Pine, Cottage, Main, East Broad, back to Broad Street. Course is a 1.1 mile loop with 120 foot stair-step climb from York to East Broad and an additional rolling hill along East Broad. Speeds of 50 mph can be reached down West Broad Street through town. Due to the nature of the course, no free lap is in effect. Lapped riders may be pulled at officials\' discretion to ensure safety and accuracy in finish placing.
